Well hopped and fruity India Pale Ale …awesome!

Using hops we encountered first hand in the USA, this is a tribute to Snake Head Brewing Company and their Pako’s Eye PA and where the Corinium seed was first sown in 2011. Since its first brew it’s been a favourite and has held its ground in the hoppy arena.

Awarded joint silver at the first Gloucester CAMRA Beer Festival in 2013; Bronze, Champion Beer of Britain, South West Region, Real Ale in a Bottle, CAMRA SW, 2013/14; and won Strong Bitter of the Year, Gloucestershire CAMRA Cotswold Beer Festival 2017.

Suggested food pairing: spicy foods, roasts, mature cheese.

Bottle from The Farm Shop, M5 Gloucester Services. Pours a hazy amber colour with a one finger off-white head. Aromas of citrus pith, grapefruit and fresh hops. Taste has more citrus flavours, leafy hops with added notes of orange and a little peppery spice. Medium body, low carbonation and very smooth mouthfeel. An ale with a modern twist. Very nice i am enjoying it.

Bottle. Favourite Beers, Cheltenham. Slightly muddy looking, deep amber. Wisp of off white head. Nose has rye like grain. Stewed fruit. Marmalade. Notes of toffee and bread crust. Taste is pretty bitter and resinous, with a stewed fruit sweetness. Pretty full body. Fine carbonation. Loads of bitterness to finish. Tasty gear.

500ml bottle from Gloucester Services: BB Sep 19. Drank at home on 22nd May 19. Part of a presentation pack (3 different Corinium beers), hope the last one's OK. This poured a hazy amber with an off-white crown. The nose held grassy hops with a slight herbal note or two, the taste was hop bitter with some malty balance towards the finish. Didn't take to it at all for some reason.

Bottle from a farm shop somewhere in deepest darkest Gloucestershire. Poured a hazy pale amber with an off white head. Initial taste was rather too bitter with some assertive grassy hops. Gradually gets more balanced with some spice, a little earthiness and sweet caramel coming through. A little stewed tea too. Grew on me, but maybe not enough.

500ml bottle from Gloucester Services on the M5. Hazy deep golden colour with a foamy bridge head. The aroma is malt and hops, the taste is too but a touch watery.

Bottle from Gloucester Services. Amber in colour with a slight, white, head. Leafy hop aroma, with a touch of orange and stone fruits. Easy drinking, with some biscuity malts, more fruits and a powerfully bitter finish. Enjoyable and traditional.
