The Żywe Beer is the most famous beer of the Amber Brewery and one of the most successful beers in Poland. Unbridled, spontaneous. Unpasteurized – created thanks to the forces of nature, therefore it retains the unusual character of real, fresh beer. This is evidenced by the extremely short shelf life – 35 days.
Living proof of how amazing beer can be.
The most popular type of bottom-fermented beer in the world in an unusual version. The history of the lager goes back to the Middle Ages. It is a bottom fermented beer aged at low temperatures. In German, the word “Lagerung” means aging. In the Middle Ages, beer was “laged” in cool places, such as in caves. In the nineteenth century, that is, before the appearance of appropriate refrigerators, German brewers dug cellars specially for the aging of beer. They filled it with ice from nearby lakes and rivers, which allowed the beer to cool in summer (also because for a long time brewing in summer was prohibited in most of the country). The spread of lager is closely related to the development of refrigeration. As a result, it could be brewed all year round in more places.
We have been brewing Żywe beer continuously since 2004. It is unpasteurized from the very beginning. This is the first Polish beer recommended by the Slow Food organization and the first to be awarded the mark of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development – Know Good Food. Awarded many times.
Perfect as an addition to lean meat dishes. It goes well with blue cheeses.

Bottle from the Polish shop opposite The Barum Top Inn, Halifax. Light tasting lager for its strength, but stated enough in its lager malt with plenty of nose. Pale golden with a thin head.

F: no real head. C: pale honey/gold. A: mainly malt and yeast, hints of like sweet biscuit. T: malty, biscuit, less hops, but bitterness present, almost no alcohol feeling for 6,2%, medium body, low carbonation, some mineral water tones, very nice strong lager and natural, great worth to try.

Draught as "Zywe Niepasteryzowane" at "Specjały Regionalne” in Warsaw small creamy head, quite clear deep gold color, honey and vanila aroma with some light yeastiness, flavor of bread and candy with a light herbal bitterness, pleasant honey aftertaste. Nice and easy to drink.

Butelka 0.5l (21.04.2015). Barwa ciemno zlocista, piwo bardzo klarowne. Piana biala, slaba. Aromat bardzo przecietny z lekkim mokrym kartonem. Smak zdecydowanie slodki, moze lekko slodowy z minimalna goryczka, nic specjalnego ale bez wad. Przecietne, pijalne, tresciwe. Klasyk poczatkow piwnej rewolucji.
