Lion’s Den has the colour of a lion, once you drink it, you feel like a lion and after a few pints you might act like a lion. Just do not blame us, we enjoy making good ale. Lion’s Den is surprisingly bitter. Light malts in the flavour. As a traditional Bitter should be, not too high in alcohol.

Sampler at The Fiddler brewpub Den Haag. Gold slight haze. Dullish pale ale perks up with some peach fruit. Pale malt is ok. Some peach and lemon. Not much condition. OK.

Cask taster @ The Fiddler Brewpub. Part of their Beer Flight. Shot glass sized. Clear urine golden, no head. Nose is buttery like quite a few of their beers, oily, esters, light herbal bitterness. Taste is butter, sweet lemon, lightly herbal, fizzy soda, light citrus peel. Buttery body, carbonation is like soda that has been open for some time. Not what I would call good or properly made.

Cask at the Fiddler. Slight hazy golden with small white head. Sweet and slightly roasted malts, light vanilla, stone fruits and herbal bitterness. Quite light with low carbonation, but a quite tasty ale. Ok

Cask @ The Fiddler, large sample. Hazy golden color, short frothy head. Aroma of some flowery hop, bit grassy, nutty like almond, bit malty. Medium bitterness, slight nutty sweetness. Proper beer, best of the bunch.

Cask at the brewpub
Hazy light amber color with creamy head. Simple and soft Ale, with a light character of cereals. Brewed by the same hand as the Albino Fox, just a bit sweeter and less yeasty.

(Cask at The Fiddler, Den Haag, 21 Feb 2013) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty, fruity nose with peaches, toast and biscuity malt. Fruity, malty taste with notes of biscuity malt, peaches, tea and a generous earthy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Quite nice.
