Pedro Ximenez is one of the noblest grape varieties that sherry is made from. We had the ultimate luck to get one of these barrels this special spirit had been aged in so we didn't waste time and filled it immediately.
The Cuban rum strikes back! After Happy Finish Tawny port, which in fact was the first part of this mini-series, we used this type of barrel again to mature the very same peanut imperial stout, but this time we mixed it with Pedro Ximenez BA imperial porter to add the unique characteristics of sherry to the game. Long story short: it's a Black Forest Cake-party in your mouth! Bitter chocolate, molasses, walnut and a huge amount of berries with an acidic aftertaste. Yummy!

Taster at Mad. Deep brown, almost black pour, thin brown head. Nose is booze, light spices, a touch of wood, a fruity hint. Taste is sweet notes of booze, light chocolate, barrel notes, a spicy touch again, a hint of vanilla even, light tartness. Medium to heavy body, soft carbonation.

Pours black, small tanned head. Scent is intense, roasty, ashy, bit sweet, coffee. Peanuts are hidden. Seems fairly sharp, rough and basic. Not getting any of the rum, sherry ( btw, Mad Scientist, sherry IS NOT a spirit, are you... Mad ? :D ) Taste is sharp, bit boozy, bit plastic. Not very clear on either barrel, nor peanuts. Tad chocolate, bit roasty. Overall pretty dissapointing.

Wchuj owocowec mlecznoczekoladowe? Waniliowe? Nieco estrowe? Za estrowe. Przedziwne to piwo, niecodzienne. Jakby bylo ciut gestsze, to fajne. Ale i tak ryli robi wrazenie calkiem pozytywne

Bottled. A very dark brown beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, roasted malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, alcohol, and caramel, leading to a to a bitter finish.
