We’re excited to debut our first-ever tea-inspired variant. Brewer Paul Cade brought this idea to life, inspired by his girlfriend, Martha, who prefers tea over coffee. Our Bourbon County Kentucky Fog Stout is a take on the London Fog tea drink. With that flavor profile in mind, we added Earl Grey Tea and Black Tea from Kilogram Tea, as well as clover honey from The Honey House, to make a Bourbon County Stout variant with a complexity like none before. Trust us, you’ll just have to try it.

a: super deep dark brown coloured body | rich & thick tan head
a: lavender | cream | alcohol
f: polished roasted malts | yes - exactly EARL GREY tea!?! | alcohol warmth on end
t: deep tea | vanilla richness | bourbon pungency
o: perfectly true-to-name | strong throughout...as expected! | great balance, and while I love tea - this just worked well, despite me not wanting to like this, I loved it! Great to celebrate with this beer on the day that the US Hockey Team won a Gold Medal in the Olympics for the first time in my lifetime!

Bottle. Color: Black, fast disappearing thin brown head. Aroma: Black tea. Taste: Mix of roasted malt, black tea, subtle honey and subtle Bourbon. Spicy notes. Warming mouthfeel. Full body, below average carbonation. Medium sweet, moderate to over moderate hop- and tea-bitterness, mostly at the finish. Nice complexity, wrll balanced with the tea. Nice one.

Pours a black colour and a small brown head with a little bit retention. Aroma's: sweet, molasses, roast, bourbon, light umami, and yes: tea and even the bergamot is recognisable, albeit subtle. Retronasal it's sweet, soft fruit, tea, bourbon, wood. Flavour is sweet and light bitter, with a twist, I don't really taste the tea, but it has something pronounced. Warming alcohol, Full bodied. Long finish, roasty and moderate bitter. A very nice variant on a great base beer!

0,5l bottle at home. black color, small coffee colored head. smells bergamot, bourbon, spices, grassy, nutty. lovely smell full body, light carbonation. tastes bergamot, spices, vanilla, nutty, bitter chocolate, . finishes bit sweet with notes of bergamot, spices and bourbon notes. good stuff, I like it. Prominent bergamot notes, could be a bit less sweet, but overall very nice one.

Best make a dent in my Bourbon County stash before adding to it again, huh? Earl Grey flavors prominent and quite sweet from the honey, balanced out nicely by the bourbon finish. Excellent, though not my favorite Bourbon County I’ve had.
