Bottle from Delhaize.

A: prune, fig, apple peel, pear, chestnut, brown bread.
T: sweetish fig & pear, sourish blackcurrant, brown bread.
F: herbal hops, bit toasty & nutty, dried fruits.

Enjoyable, just a tad too fizzy.

Bruin bier met schuim. Smaak is bitterzoet met iets van karamel, wat kandij en kaneel. Helaas wat waterig in de mond maar verder ok.

Bottle at home. Light to medium brown color, unclear, a bit muddy, with a huge foamy off-white head. Aroma and flavor are malts, brown malts, wholegrain bread, figs, brown candy sugar lightly. Light malty sweet and malty bitter finish. Quite pleasant.

Slow gushing to huge ultra-stable cream-coloured head with lace. Parsley, cookies, toast, brown bread, wood, liquorice - all the classics. Mild roast, mixed with sweet malts. But there are persistent hints at acidity that is neither the CO², neither lactic. Feels obviously overcarbonated; quite well-bodied. Gushing, acidity - I fear infection, and it's probably going to get worse.

Pours with an enormous head. dark caramel brown color, under said huge, cream-white colored , medium-low stability of a fairly creamy head. Scent is BE yeast, fairly complexly joined by the darker malts and a hint of hops. Balance seems to be key here, though the yeasty aroma's have the upperhand ( as is usual for the style). Taste is full. Dark malts provide an earthy, chocolaty aroma. Medium sweet, has a good amount of bitterness as well. Very highly carbonated ( overcarbonated ) which is a big negative for me. Yeast is less up front. Still very noticable, but the aroma's that are to be conected to it don't take the upperhand as much, making for a quite balanced taste profile. Some dark bread aroma. Very enjoyable, yet overcarbonated.
Also wanted to mention the label and text. I didn't connect the dots with only the name, but seeing the picture, being a big 'In De Gloria' fan, i instantly got the idea behind it ! the text is just hilarious. Finally, 'funny' beerlabel done right ! If they can just fix the overcarbonation, this would make a great re-buy beer for me. Both for comical reasons, and it being actually quite good as well ! Perhaps an ever so slight touch of metallicness as well though.
