Ale aged in bourbon barrels
Le douzième anniversaire of The Bruery brings another celebratory ale true to tradition. The masterful Solera blending method combined with bourbon barrel-aging builds layers of complexity with a portion of each year’s anniversary ale. With notes of toffee and vanilla balancing perfectly with dark fruit and oak characters, Soie truly serves up a Bruer’s dozen.

750ml bottle pours a dark, caramel amber with a ring of white head. Nose has sumac, wet wood, whiskey, big caramel, some tomato paste, tamarind. Plenty happening. Flavor has blood orange, some milk chocolate, tamarind, treacle, sumac, whiskey, brandy too. Full bodied, sticky, slightly hot finish.

7fiddy thanks to Kenny. It pours dark brown with a decent beige head. The aroma is sweet, oily, sticky, bourbon, vanilla, toasted coconut, bounty bar, woody, toffee, dried fruits and earth. The taste is drying, toothy, sticky, boozy, moreish, cacao, toasted coconut, drying, woody, toothy, spice, leather, toothy, oily, sticky, leather, bourbon, chewy, dried fruits, green banana and earth with a dry and boozy finish. Fulsome body and moderate, foamy carbonation. A rich and unctuous bastard. A classic Bruery.
