Bottle shared at home, courtesy of Michiel. Black pour with a tan head. I’m a sucker for peated stouts so this one worked pretty good for me, it might be a tad lacking in complexity, but is sure makes up for it in overall fun-level. Nice peaty chocolate all around, creamy, thick, tasty.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is strong peated whisky, iodine, smoked bacon, ash, roasted malt, touch of liquorice, tar, chocolate. Flavour is moderate sweet and pretty bitter, alcohol in the finish. Body is medium. Very peated and boozy, black tar.

Pours black and a small beige head with little retention. Aroma's: peaty, iodine, red fruit. Retronasal it's sweet as well. Flavour is above moderate sweet, caramel, iodine. Full bodied. Alcohol feel is quite moderate. Long finish, roasty, peaty, light moderate bitter.

Very thin. Plenty of barrel going on here, maybe a bit too much to get the balance right. Luckily it's a delicious barrel. Some meaty sweetness, very peaty. Flavourwise it's nice, but that body and balance are just AWOL.

Bottle. Color: Black, light brown head. Aroma: Strong peat, notes of smoked meat and subtle roasted malt and coffee. Taste: Over moderate sweet and moderate to over moderate bitter, a lot of peat, bit salty, smoked fish, umami, iodine, notes of dark roasted malt and coffee. Boozy. BA is overwhelming. Dry-ish finish. Nice slow sipper..
