Certainly has the smokey peaty barrel character of jim beam. Which is not exacrly the best scotch i would like, but it’s a solid interesting beer. Can ams work

Dark brown, some tan head. Smell is peaty, some apple, sweet caramel. Soft body, but a bit on the thin side. Taste is a generous mix of things that don't really work well together. Green apples, of course, meaty peatyness, bourbon, and some caramel sweet.

33cl blik van Bierwinkel Alkmaar. Donkerbruine kleur, beige kraag. Aroma is flink geturfd, rokerig, neigend naar groene appel, smaak is zoet, donker fruit, prut, oud vat, turf, vanille, zoethout, wat groene appel maar gelukkig niet storend dit keer. Medium body.

0.33 l can from 't Biermenneke, best before January 2023. Very dark reddish brown to black with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, quite smoky-medicinal, minimally fruity aroma of peat, iodine, some raisins, light green apples and a touch of caramel. Quite sweet, malty, rather smoky-medicinal taste of peat, iodine, caramel, ash, whisky and raisins, followed by a long, rather smoky-medicinal, slightly bitter, gently boozy finish with a touch of green apples. Medium to full body, smooth, slightly creamy and gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Heavy beer, not really balanced. The peat overpowers the base beer completely, and there's some green apple as well. A decent sipper nevertheless but not great.

Can at home. Pours deep ruby brown, nose is caramel, toffee, elastoplast, taste is similar, would have guessed islay, not bourbon. --- Beer merged from original tick of Barrel Project 21.02 on 11 Feb 2021 at 21:30 - Score: 7
