Light brown colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour have some lightly toasted malts. Little bit of caramel in the finish.

7/6/2018. Bottle from CentrAle, Newcastle. Pours ruby brown with a small beige head. Aroma of sweet malt, fruit, prune, caramel and moderate roasting. Medium plus sweetness, light to moderate bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Not bad, but not as good as the cask version I had yesterday.

500Ml bottle. Poured a crystal clear medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is sweet sugary malt, creamy caramel. The flavour is moderate sweet, light bitter with a smooth rich woody resin hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

21st Aug 2016: cask pint in ’Cobblers’ a micro bar in Filey, Yorkshire. Decent looking beer: ruby red body, off-white foaming head. Malts lead the way here, semi-sweet caramel notes throughout form the base for this fruity brew. Good balance between the fruitiness and the maltiness: my sweet tooth liking it from the start.

500ml bottle from local Aldi - Clear deep red body, thick short-lasting white head. Nose is a bit half-hearted, some fruit, some caramel. Taste is more of a solid presence, buttery caramel, toffee, and red fruits. Not bad.

500ml Bottle at home on 4th Nov 2015. Red hue to the deep amber body, on top a thin beige covering that tried to hang around in the UK pint sleeve the beer was poured into. Toffee esters filled my nose and the semi-sweet malt molasses theme carried on into the taste. My sweet tooth liked it although it is a little ’one dimensional’ flavour wise as the malts overpower the hop content somewhat in all aspects.

Cask at the Prince Albert, Ely. Ruby brown, clear with a small head. Malt aroma with hint if forest floor. Very sweet, very malty taste. More of the same in the slightly chalky finish. Ok.
