Panda at home, thanks to Kenny, 11/09/23. Rich mahogany brown with a beige cap that thins to a swirl but retains well enough. Nose is caramel, stewed fruits, spice, herb, Mezcal rinse, oak, faint lime zest, toffee, figs. Taste comprises liquid fruit cake, spice, figgy jam, dates, molasses, toffee, brown sugar melt, balanced barrel kick, vinous, sherry notes. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with a balanced rising boost. Solid kit.

Hazy amber brown beer, small pale tan head. Airy palate, semi dry, good fine minerally crisp snap. Malts bring a nice caramel creamy sweetness, little toffee in there. A light touch of barrel induced oaky vanilla. The Mezcal brings smooth but spicy licorice and aniseed along with smooth licorice vodka. Smooth and pretty light finish. The alcohol element is extraordinarily well hidden. A wonderful big barleywine that is almost a complete slave to its barrel but the barrel is rather good.

Tap. Hazy amber-reddish color with beige head. Aroma is big mezcal, raisins, prunes, intense. Taste is again raisins and mezcal, also quite some bitterness there. Sirupy-ish mouthfeel, fine-bubbled carbonation. The mezcal kick is pretty great in here, I gotta say.
