Golden waxed bottle 75 cl. Cloudy, opaque deep brown with an orange hue and a small, dissipating beige head. Complex aroma of overripe fruit and caramel with distinct woody notes - alcohol in noticeable as well. Rich body, flavors as above but also an unclean earthy, fusty edge from the barrel. Still enjoyable though. Warming alcohol finish. 261223

12/XI/21 - sample @ Billies Craft Beer Festival Day 1 (Waagnatie, Antwerp), BB: n/a (2021-1326) Thanks to the Brewver crew and other beer buddies for sharing today’s beers!

Clear dark brown to purple beer, no head. Aroma: very oxidized, lots of grains, cow fodder, nice, dry and dusty, more oxidation. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: very oxidized, lots and lots of alcohol, slightly sourish, more oxidation, unpleasant bitterness. Not the best…

Bottle. with nice metallic copper-colored wax layer. Color: Very dark ruby, beige head. Aroma: Some fudge, herbal, notes of nuts, very lightly tart. Taste: Moderate sweet, bit boozy, herbal / spicy notes, some cinnamon, Brandy, very lightly tart like wine, fruity notes of distilled grapes, some dark dried fruit, raisins, some nuts, wood. Starting moderate bitter, going to more bitterness towards the finish. Long lasting medium to over medium bitter, spicy and boozy, dry, Brandy like finish. Almost powdery mouthfeel at the end. Just over medium body, below average carbonation. Complex. Nice one, slow sipper.

Bottle, 750 ml, shared with Max, Miro B and kajser27. Dark brown with beige head. Caramel, malty, some chocolate, sweetish, vinous, barrel. Not easy to drink. Seems like a mess really. Full bodied. Maybe not the best choice to finish the evening.
