We hebben deze Imperial Stout 1500 dagen laten rijpen op Brandy barrels. Rijke smaken van chocolade, appelstroop, rozijnen en een kleine hint van hout.

Bottle from markoijelena as part of Euro local swap #01/2021, thanks. Malty aroma and taste, roastyness, brandy barell, cocoa, raisins, plums notes, coffee notes, medium bitter. Full body, malty roasty bitter finish with brandy notes and warming alcohol. Ok.

Basisbier blijft redelijk overeind tegen lichte brandy booze en behapbare groene appels

Bottle. Color: Black, thin beige head. Aroma: Roasted malt, chocolate, boozy, fruity notes of sweetish dark dried fruit. Taste: Dark chocolate, roasted malt, licorice, some fudge notes. Over moderate sweet. Fruity notes of raisins, some grapes and hints of dark dried fruit. Moderate to over moderate bitterness. Oak wood. Notes of vanilla. Some umami. Dry-ish mouthfeel at finish. Quite boozy and quite malty. Long lasting finish. Base beer and BA are well balanced, which sounds amazing given the 1500 days of barrel ageing. I think this barrels must have been re-used before. Full body, below average carbonation. Nice slow sipper, bringing me back to the good early days of De Molen and Jopen barrel ageing.

33 cl. bottle @ Dennis & Patries. Pitch black with a beige head. Roasted malts aroma, raisins, chocolate, sweet coffee and brandy. Sweet taste with a sweet very long finish. Thick mouthfeel. Very good barrel aged imperial stout.
