Tonka bean imperial stout
Black Bean is a bit Malevich here, but this beer was born as a kinda joke for black Friday. A black imperial stout, fullbodied with black tonka beans. These magical beans reminds some people of dried cherries, some of cinnamon, some of vanilla, and sometimes all of those. Well, it seems it's our first beer which have grown from super tiny batch into more, and all this thanks to your feedback. So this beer is yours as it is ours.

Can thanks to cgarvieuk. Appearance - deep brown to black. Thin tan head. Nose - tonka bean, cinnamon and creamy chocolate. Taste - creamy and cinnamon, chocolate and light coffee. Palate - creamy in texture and medium bodied. Sweet finish. Overall - a bit sweet but nice all the same.

Can at MBCW Tasting. Aroma has vanilla and cinnamon and a mustiness. Opaque creosote brown. No head. Initial spice and coffee tang. Underlying malty chocolate light sweetness. Medium bodied. Oily. Sticky. Long somewhat astringent finish. Enjoyable spicy stuff.

Can shared at mbwc. A clear nut brown coloured pour with a fine light tan head. Aroma is nutty, cinnamon toast, tonka, dried fruits,. Flavour is composed of medium sweet, brown sugars, cinnamon Danish, Warming alcohol, toasted tonka,. Palate is medium sweet, rounded, moderate carbonation,. Not bad.

Can split at MBCW '22 (Massive Beer Celebration Watford), thank to Fergus, 13/05/22. Light black with a tan cap that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is mellow roast, tonka, coffee, light spice, dried fruits, charr. Taste comprises full on tonka, chocolate cake, dark malts, light roast, spice, caramel, brown sugar melt. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Solid tonka laden affair.

330ml can @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, March 22. Shared with the current situation in Ukraine firmly in our minds and our thoughts with the brewers. Pitch black pour, small beige head. Big tonka aroma, lovely smooth palate with a great chocolatey character. Really excellent tonka imperial stout. Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦

Monday 7th March 2022, monthly beer exchange in Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Usual 5 suspects sharing beers and talking bollocks. Cheers Mat for our Ukrainian rate of the evening. Tall, thin 33cl can. Black, tanned head. Sweet with Tonka and vanilla to the fore. Nice!
