Bottle: Poured a dark color ale with a large off-white foamy head. Aroma of funky roasted malt notes with some cherry is a bit off and not overly enticing. Taste is also a mix of roasted malt, weird off funky notes with some cherry notes and dry tart finish. Body is light with good carbonation. Another off-balanced Fantome experiment.

Bottle, gusher (not unusual at bottles of the brewery), a lot of foam. Color: Very dark hazy ruby, light brown head. Nice lacing. Aroma: Sweet, cherry stone, yeasty hints. Taste: Deep dark, sweetish cherries, funky yeast notes. Earth, hints of cocoa, dark chocolate and coffee. Burnt sugar and herbal notes. Bit tart (not sour), dry and bit astringent, sticky mouthfeel. Wood. Above moderate to medium sweet and bitter. Very long lasting bittery finish with dark cherry notes. 2nd glass drunken somewhat colder: More dark, sticky, cherry. Sticky, bit sirupy. Over medium body, below average carbonation. If you see the word Krieken on the label, you might expect that it's sourish, but this one is a sweet and bitter, dense Saison. No problem to me, just saying this for others. Bit weird, but that's why I love Fantome beers. Another great one.

Bottle, at Friends of Ham. Shared with Jeff and Matt. Pretty unappetising, super murky, dark cola brown. Thin, very dense, lasting, lacing, pale tan head. Nose has earthy cherry stone. Some malt sweetness. Some old cardboard. Touch of balsamic. Taste is tart and fairly dry. Nice cherry juice sweetness. This has a lovely Fantome weirdness.

Tap. Hazy brown color with beige head. Aroma is lots of Belgian yeast, almost no dark flavours. Taste is Belgian yeast, dark malts only with imagination, same with the Kriek. Herbal stuff in the back, a but too harsh when swallowing. Silky mouthfeel with high carbonation.

Keg at the hanging bat. Pours deep ruby, nose is funk, leather, cherry, taste is similar, little burnt rubber.
