On tap at Hops, Crewe - as "Hofbrau Lager 3.3%". Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow with minimal almost white head and good lacing. The aroma has continental hops and corn. There’s quite a sharp initial taste in the mouth, but quickly juicy sweetness wins through. Flavour has continental hops, grains and hints of herbs and spices. After a while there is a noticeable citrus and lemon element too. Finish is slightly sweet. The is decent – a reasonable amount of flavour for the strength.

Lightly cloudy golden yellow with a firm white head. Malt, toasted bits, some bright citrus notes. Medium thin body. Really lovely especially for the abv.

Keg sraught at the Needle & Pin, Loughborough. Mid-Gold and clear with a nice little white head. Very malty aroma, hints of lemon escaping. Taste is very full, malt-led. Incredibly satisfying for the ABV. The only issue for me is in a slightly vegetal finish when the bitterness fixes in a little. Light body with big carbonation. All in all it is certainly good for what it is.

Can, Aldi. Barely misted gold with a good cm of white head. Slightly fruity aroma with light bread, gentle floral notes. Then thinnish with some grainy notes and a slight harshness to the modest peppery bitterness. But no complaints - decent and highly refreshing for 3.3%.

Half-pint, on tap at The Boot on 11th October 2024. Clean golden body, small white fading head. It's OK for a 3.3% ABV lager, refreshing, light and almost tasty, pleasantly surprised.
