Almost clear deep reddish amber beer, small pale tan head. Light malts and fruit wine on the snozzle. Smooth palate, a very mild viscosity, decent fine carbonation. Sweet malts, sweet creamy malt with sweet caramel. Nice touch of darkish toffee. Booze starts to warm by the mid point. Back end finds the fruit wine flavours coming through from the nose. Berryish fruit wine. Odd but pleasant. Not unusual to get Port Wine vibes from a good barleywine but this is a little different. Finishes smooth and warming and leaving a sugary residue on the kisser. Good fun.

Bottle sourced from the excellent Beerdome and drunk at home (21/06/2022) - New 🇬🇧 brewery ✅ - pours dark amber brown with a nice beige head. sweet and toasted malty with lots of sweet sticky malts, lots of caramel and toffee, fudge like sweetness, dried fruit shred, brown sugar, hoppy undertones but a proper big dense malty English BW here as stated, great first impression.

Bottle, 2021 edition. Aroma: Slightly hazy copper, beige head. Aroma: Toffee, sweetish, malty, dark fruit notes. Taste: Medium to over medium sweet, toffee, caramel and chocolate fudge, sweet dried fruit, candy sugar, malty, vanilla. Over medium to full body, just below average carbonation. Light bitterness, going to moderate at boozy finish. Bit sticky mouthfeel. A bit too sweet and too monotonous in my opinion.

Bottle thanks to Stuu666. Appearance - deep brown with orange chinks. Thin off white head. Nose - toffee, hazelnut, honey, orange peel and light prunes. Taste - dried orange, going into marmalade, floral honey, chewy nougat and praline. Palate - medium to full bodied, creamy middle. Some malt bitterness creeping into the finish. Unusually for this style, the booze is very well disguised. Overall - fantastic beer!
