Can. Vintage 2020. Thx to RuneBlix for sourcing and Cunningham for muling. Quite intense peat smoke at first, then there's some room for caramel malts, bread, nuts, some chocolate, alcohol and dried fruit. Very gentle on the palate, not even too warming. It felt a bit simple in the beginning, but it grew on me and I really like liked it. 848415 251221

Can 33 cl. Cloudy and almost opaque brown with an orange hue and next to no head. Massive peat aroma - iodine and tar. Rich, sweet caramel malts, but everything is totally destroyed by ashy peat. For a peat hater like me, this is the perfect way to ruin a Barley Wine. 010823

Can at home. Pours a hazy nut brown colour with a small beige head. Aroma of islay whisky, bread, caramel pudding, oak and leather. Hint of dried fruit. Flavour of sweet bread, leather, dried fruit, islay whisky and oak. Has a slick and soft mouth feel, full-bodied and a light bitterness. The whisky dominates the aroma, but in the flavour the malt plays a bigger role and blends nicely with the whisky. A fantastic beer if you love islay whisky, like me. If you don't, steer away.

330 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 10.1%. Slightly hazy reddish brown colour, small beige head. Intense aroma of peated Islay whisky, malts, seaweed and iodine. Sweet flavour with the same elements as the aroma, very moderate hops. Too much peat smoke for me.

Can. Unclear deep golden body under a moderate sized tan head. Strong aroma dominated by peated whisky, also some caramel malt, dry fruit, wood and bandage. Taste is quite sweet with a strong peated whisky scent, malt, caramel, dry fruit, wood and slightly perfumed, warming alcohol. A really nice sipper with lots of whisky taste. Lovely.
