Germany isn’t very far away, and by all accounts the Germans make really good beer; beer we can buy here, as it goes. So why would a Highland brewery make a quintessentially German style when the authentic product is almost on the doorstep? Well, our German Head Brewer happens to be a dab hand at the ol’ lagers and we don’t need another reason than we wanted to.

100% organic, 50% German, unfiltered, crispy biscuits.

440ml can from Black Isle Brewery Shop in Munlochy - Clear yellow, decent head. Fairly dampened aroma, by the book lager notes, a bit of citrus, but served ice cold it does a job and gets a bit of a higher rating because I'm melting.

Hardly any aroma.
Medium bodied, sharp dry & clean.
Herbal, tobacco, lime, yeast & citrus tastes a malt backbone.
Unusual.
