Orient-Ále is a hybrid between Saké and beer. An Ale with clear foodprints in the East. We used Koji spores, Darjeeling tea and a combination of Sake yeast and Beer yeast. The results, a complex, different beer with an elegant body, but dangerous, because of the hidden alcohol.

Fruity, malty, bitter. Smokey, citrus, yeasty. Not great.

Flaska från Etre Gourmete. Disig gyllengul vätska med lågt skum. Jästig och klorofyllig doft och smak. Aningen syrlig, gula syrliga russin, honung, växtdelar, blombukett. Lite udda. Ok+

Bottle shared by Joes. Darker orange golden color, medium sized white head. Aroma is quite faint tbh. Might be too cold. Flavor are malts, oddly herbal, sake fruity notes. Quite well done actually.

Bottle. Color: Hazy golden, white head. Aroma: Yeasty, herbal notes. Taste: Very smooth. Interesting and complex combination of moderate sweet, light bitter and very lightly tart, yeasty, umami, herbal / spicy hints and black tea notes, light fruity hints of apple. Dry to very dry mouthfeel. Medium body, below average carbonation. I'm not familiar with Saké, so I can't compare, but this beer surely has some Oriënt influences. Interesting beer / beer-saké hybrid from this equally interesting brewery. Nice one.
