Sample (thanks fonefan!). Black colour, small off-white head. Aroma is nutty, some alcohol, toffee, toasted and mild dark berries. Flavour is toffee, nutty, some alcohol, very sugary and syrupy sweet with some slight vanilla and chocolate tones. Intense, but a bit too sticky sweet for me.

Black with thin head. Aroma is perfumed, herbal. Taste is much better as the extreme flavours are a little more muted. Texture is nice and oily.

Zwart bier zopnder schuim. Smaak is warm en krachtig, licht bitter en vrij zoet met iets van koffie, bittere chocolade, wat vanille en iets van licht zuur fruit. Zou iets romiger en voller mogen zijn.

33cl bottle. A clear dark orange brown beer with a small beige lacing. Aroma of sweet tonka beans, vanilla, chocolate and boozy dark malt. Taste of tonka, vanilla, chocolate, dark red fruits, some coffee, boozy finish.

Bottled 330ml. -from Ambasada Zagreb. Blackish coloured, no head at all, tonka and whiff of alcohol in the nose. Tonka, alcohol, light caramel and dried fruits with sweet alco finish.

33cl bottle from Prik & Tik Dranken Marlou F: thin, tanned, quick gone, to some bubbles. C: dark, opaque. A: rich dark malts, tonka beans, coconut, nutty, marzipan, coffee, spicy, vinous touch. T: full malty base, vinous, tonka beans, coconut, coffee, bit caramel, brown sugar, toffee, cocoa, rum warming alcohol, soft carbonation, very nice evening sipper, fully enjoyed.

0.33 l bottle shared with Marko at Valhalla Craft Beer Bar, Zagreb. Dark, black? Small head. Dried fruit, figs, carrob, cocoa or tonka beans, blackberry, biscuit. Fruit cake, quite sweet, biscuit, alcohol hidden. Medium body, quite drinkable, quite warming, moderate finish.

Bottle, Valhalla. Shared with Hrabren. Very dark brown-red body, off white head. Tonka and dried boysenberries in the aroma, smooth, sweetish, very pleasan. Lean, dry taste, perfumey tonka and light alcohol, dry maltiness, light vegetal touches, but okay. Too dry for its own good.

33 cl bottle bought at Noch Planten Noch Koffie, Mechelen. Nice recommendation by the knowledgeable and friendly staff. A pitch black pour with some brownish highlights. Beige, minimal head. Aroma is tonka bean (as expected), chocolate, cocoa, pie. Sweetish onset, leadint to a dense, crisp midpalate. Very bitter and long-lasting finish, with new hints of tonka bean and black coffee. Good.

4 July 2021. At Dok Brewing Festival. Shared with the lovely Anke! Hazy dark brown, thin, tan head. Strong aroma of lots of cinnamon, clove, speculoos, brown fudge, mocha, chocolate praliné, prune, hazelnut (paste), Kahlúa. Taste has (very) sweet prune & raisin in a thick biscuity, chocolatey, speculoos-like malty profile adorned with spicy cinnamon & clove, touch of flavoured coffee in the back. Herbal hoppy finish, quite spicy, lingering biscuit, chocolate powder, perfumey tonka and warming coffee liqueur-like alcohol. Full body, creamy-syrupy texture, soft carbonation. Avoid if you dislike tonka, that much is certain.
