Beluga is a bold, roasted Russian Imperial Stout. Complex and luxurious, we get the requisite chocolate and coffee flavours, but enriched with subtle hints of leather and dried fruits. Take your time to savour this beer, as it needs rumination, and just might provoke deeper contemplation.
This edition is aged in a single Olorosso Sherry vat which previously held 18 year old Laphroaig. Dark coffee, iodine, dates and peat are in perfect balance with the roast.

Pours pitch black with a beige head that leaves a small blanket. Aroma's: iodione, peat, roast, fudge. Retronasal it's peaty, whisky, roast, dark chocolate, a bit red fruit. Flavour is light sweet, alcohol, peat/iodone, a bit salty even. Alcohol is a bit sharp. Above medium bodied. Long finish with dark chocolate, roast, ash, above moderate bitter.

Bottle thanks to sjogro. Black with tan head. Creamy chocolate, massive peat smoke, tar, vanilla, smoke, earthy, sweet toffee. Quite sweet with smoky bitterness. Full bodied. Very tasty.

Bottle. Color: Black, light brown head. Aroma: Roasted malt, peat. coffee. Taste: Dark roasted malt, mocha, peat and subtle iodine. Subtle notes of dark dried fruit, dates. Bit boozy and bit sticky. Moderate sweetness and moderate to over moderate bitterness. I think I can taste the sweetish Sherry popping up very shortly now and then, but I'm not entirely sure. Full body, soft carbonation. Smooth and dense mouthfeel. Long lasting peaty and roasted finish. Very nice, very well balanced in between base beer and barrel.
