Bottle, courtesy of Erzengel, shared at Ganz. Pours holden with a white head. Nose is hay and honey with herbal notes. Taste is fundamentally sweet, showing layered grains and some honey but there’s a good amount of bitterness to it to balance things out. Interestingly both the sweetness and the bitterness are relatively apparent and intense yet it somehow manages to maintain balance. Bit of a surprise tbh, but surely a pleasant one.

0.33 bottle. Gold, great fine head, neutral aroma with undefined hops. Caramel candy flavor, like what a friend's Grandma might give you when she's visiting. Well balanced with early hop additions that even out the remaining sugar. Tasty!

Bottle. Red deep golden, low offwhite head. Sweet fruity aroma, light honey, potato. Medium body, sparkles. Mellow on the palate, not too sticky, pleasant fruity notes, grassy counterpoint.

Bottle. Clear deep golden color with white head. Aroma is sugar icing, lightly grassy, honeymelon. Taste is the same, rather sweet, but also rather fruity. Oily mouthfeel with natural carbonation. Quite well made!

Flasche: Golden, hazy, medium-sized creamy white head, moderate sweetish-bitter nose of pale malt, honey and herbal hops; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium to full bodied, creamy MF; lingering herbal-hoppy and honeyish-malty finish. Wow! Well crafted and well balanced Bock...

Big thank you to Erzengel for this 0,33 l bottle. Unclear golden in the glass with a white huge three finger head. Low grainy caramell smell. Taste starts grainy, some malt, little bit alcoholic bitterness. Smooth. Nice stuff, especially for a Heller Bock.

Huge thanks to Erzengel for sharing! Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, small head. Starts fine malty-spicy, light alcoholic notes. Some woody hints. Finish dry-malty and spicy. Not bad.

0.33 l bottle from 'Sonnenschein', best before September 2018. Clear, golden amber with a large, foamy, almost stable, white head. Slightly sweetish, grassy, moderately fruity and slightly floral aroma of lemon peel, fresh grass and some grains. Medium sweet, malty, slightly bitter, rather grassy, gently fruity and slightly floral taste of grains, honey, lemon peel and fresh grass, followed by a short, moderately bitter, quite grassy and a little peppery-yeasty finish. Medium body, smooth and quite effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Very nice beer, pretty refreshing and therefore quite different from most examples of the style, still balanced with a solid malty sweetness.
