Hobby beer commercialized through Hofbrouwerijke, with the name playing on the name of the village (Oplinter) where it originated. Bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck (I think…). Cobweb-lacing, thick, foamy, stable, egg-white head, hazy peach blonde beer with vague orangey hue and lively sparkling. Aroma of banana, soapy coriander seed, canned peaches, fresh orange, sweet cicely, pear, sweetbread. Fruity, sweetish onset, banana and apricot with a sweet red apple-like hint, fizzy carbonation, smooth and relatively full mouthfeel. Cleanly bready, honeyish malty middle, curaçao and coriander spicing in the finish, quite fresh in this case with decent, peppery and bit leafy, dryish hop bitterness balancing the initial sweetness. Very stereotypical Belgian 'ambrée' tripel, but decently made and within its context, quite well-balanced, even somewhat refreshing in spite of its strength. I have, however, serious doubts whether 'Hoplinter' deserves the status of a brewery in its own right as has apparently been done here...

19/VII/18 - 33cl bottle, shared by Alengrin @ Belgian Ticks Tasting (home) - BB: n/a (2018-852) Thanks to Alengrin for sharing the bottle!

Clear orange beer, solid creamy yellowish head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: fruity, malty, apples, some yeast, banana, bit spicy, orange peel, soapy touch. MF: ok to lively carbon, medium body. Taste: malty start, some grains, bit spicy, caramel. Aftertaste: bitter, yeast, bit spicy, grains, hay, more malts, banana, pretty sweet, coriander and soapy finish. At least it's not a gusher. ;-)

Unbelievably stable head, as a piece of meringue, leaving lace of coldhazed golden beer, finely carbonated. Oxydized malt, other grains, old cookies, some dried herbs. Oxydation, old, tired malts, again spicy-yeasty features. Slick, well-bodied, underattenuated, good carbonation. Hmm... not very convincing.

At Bierfestival de dijleschuimers Nr 2 (2015 ) Pours unclear blonde, small white head. Smell is yeasty. Taste is bitter, sharp, citrussy. Intense, very fruity. Yeast. Very nice body and carbo. Nice beer !
