330ml can. Black with a small tanned head. Aroma of roasted malts, metal, maple, coffee. Sweet, roasty malts, maple, nuts, light coffee. Medium bodied but overly carbonated for a 6% stout. Quite nice.

Can @ Fox & Goose, Hebden Bridge. Nearly black with a small head. It’s not quite as stated as expected, with pecan and maple both evident in the mix, and it has a sweetness.

[33cl can from Beer52.] An opaque black pour with a loose caramel coloured head; aroma of pecan and maple; soft and rather flabby in the mouth, with a sweet maple taste that builds slowly, followed by some chocolate and roasted malt; then a warming finish with some jammy fruit. Not at all what I was expecting!

Can from Beer 52. Nuts and treacle in the aroma. Pours a very dark reddish brown with a small transient beige head. Very sweet and sticky in the mouth. The nuts are still there along with honey, molasses, golden syrup and marshmallows on a base of roasted malts. Finish is sweet and sticky. It’s nice enough, and hide’s its strength very well, but a bit strange to say the least.

Creamy light brown head stayed on a dark brown body. Malt, syrup & roasted aroma. Medium bodied, tingly with a smooth back. Syrup, jam, toffee & roasted tastes with a sweet but hoppy finish. Heavy going but decent stuff.
