Can at home, from HOTM online, 06/03/21. Black with a decent tan cap that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is dark malts, chocolate, molasses, spice, dried fruits, dates, cacao nibs. Taste comprises dark malts, cocoa powder, treacle toffee, molasses fruit cake, light spice, brown sugars. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Decent straight up impy stout but lacks a little complexity for me to hit the 4 barrier.

Flavour is composed of super rich cakey malts, burnt figgy pud, dark chocolate, liquorice, robust earthy roast. roast. Flavour is composed of full bodies, creamy, smooth, fine carbonation, velvety. Super rich, hides the abv very well. Supurb.

Can, via the brewery online shop. 330ml, which is very sensible. I’m all for it. Pours nicely oily, very dark mahogany brown. Sits nearly black in the glass. Fine and dense, lasting, leggy, tan head. Nose has dark chocolate malt. Sweet vine fruit. Light roast coffee bean. Bit of a cherry truffle thing. Taste has a dark chocolate sweetness to start, with a robust, chocolatey, vinous, burnt toast bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel with soft carbonation suggests a way lower ABV. Lingering chocolate bitterness to finish. Pastry-less blinder.
