Foamy pour from can, cream head. Espresso beans, roasted malta. Really nice can.

Can. Not quite sure how to pour this widgetless nitro - a vigorous pour yields a very black beer with 3/2 inch of beige head. What happens if you mix this with Champagne? A hall of mirrors? Somewhat muffled aroma of mocha, cream, roast. Perhaps a little drier than expected with roast, light earthy/ chicory notes and mocha before gentle but persistent bitterness that fades to a point. Not special but done with a touch of class - as ever, I'm a sucker for a well-defined finish.

12 ounce can. Barely translucent dark brown color. Foamy tan head. Slightly earthy roasted malt aroma hints at chocolate. Flavor follows nose. Roasted malt and chocolate flavor. Light to medium bodied. Some smokiness. Silky mouthfeel. Resiny hop finish is subdued. Very drinkable.

Almost black beer, a creamy and beige head. Aroma has roastiness, black coffee, hint of sweetness of chocolate. Taste has roastiness, dry, coffee, some chocolate. Medium bodied, velvety palate. Straightforward.

Straightforward nitro oatmeal stout, for better or worse. Hits the roast and baker’s chocolate notes you want, and the oatmeal provides a nice, chewy thickness. But the nitro flattens the flavors, leading to a mild, slightly fruity finish and modest java bitterness on the fade. Enjoyable, but I’m a Co2 guy.
