Warm, smooth, sweet dried fruit and vanilla complement a commanding Brandy character. This remarkably limited version was 100% barrel-aged for 12 months in Brandy casks.

Bottle. Nose is grapes, brandy, some wood, cocoa. Nice sweet grape flavor does nice with the stout, chocolate and coffee notes. Liked this the best of the three today. Worked better than the cognac for sure.

Fall bottle share - Imperial Stouts 2016 edition. Roasty and fairly dry for such a big beer. Notes of pitted fruit and a touch of the boozy Brandy barrels flavor.

Very good, could crawl up and sip this all night.

From a bomber. Pours black with a tan head. Aromas of oak, licorice, and leather. Flavors of moderately bitter roast and molasses. Bitter roast finish. Quite good, but not up to the standard set by the Scotch barrel version.

Bottle - Woody and nice soft roast. Jet black with a nice light brown head. Woody toasty malts and some nice dark notes. Decent, wood forward and not really brandy notes.

Bottle. Pours inky black, large creamy brown head, dissipates slowly with nice lacing. Aroma is rich and full of brandy and oak, molasses, anise, licorise, tobacco and some cocoa. Flavor is light plus sweet, medium bitter, loads of tobacco, hints of vanilla. Full body and creamy mouthfeel. Rich and thick without the crazy sweetness. Pretty complex but also a bit boozy.

Draft pour at Savor: An American Craft Beer & Food Experience 2017. Poured pitch black, motor oil color. Small tan head. Aroma was dry, slightly hot brandy, coffee notes, chocolate, brown sugar, roasted malt notes. Flavor was incredibly smooth for the ABV... evenmoreso than the rye one I had the previous night.

A sharp brandy aroma like your wife has just spent her night with someone classier than you. Roast and dark chocolate. Nut and coffee. Black pour with great. Bitter finish. Caramel.
