Warm, smooth, sweet dried fruit and vanilla complement a commanding Brandy character. This remarkably limited version was 100% barrel-aged for 12 months in Brandy casks.

2017 bomber shared by TJ on 10/13/18.
Smells like brandy. Dark ebony. Unclear. Tan head to ring. Vanilla. This is much better than the tequila and almost undrinkable rum version. Chocolate and coffee. Raisin and grape. Light acidity. Tight carbonation. Lightly boozy but soft and oaky.

22 oz. bottle shared by Chalmeaux., nice vertical! Had rum, Brandy, tequila and base side by side. Aroma is treacle, mild Brandy, chocolate, and licorice. The flavor is strong in Brandy with a great roasted malt backbone. Body and texture is great as you would expect.

2016 vintage bottle. Pours black from the bottle. A dirty tan head turns creamy and settles amid modest lacing. Aroma is molasses, licorice, and brandy. As the beer warms and mellows the scent of chocolate becomes more pronounced. Taste is mildly chocolate sweet with a mellowing near the end, a berry sweetness with mild sour notes becomes dominant. The brandy is very noticeable at the finish and adds an interesting twist. Body is medium to heavy, carbonation is quite mild. Well done and as with the โstandardโ Abyss the greatest thing is not just the range of flavors offered, but the balance it keeps between them. Mild dark chocolate bitterness, molasses and vanilla sweetness and brandy sweet/sourness meld very nicely into one. Quite warming. It does turn a touch boozy at the very end and doesnโt hide the alcohol quite as well as the 2015 vintage Abyss that I had, which is my only complaint, but this is still a true pleasure to drink. #1k
