Clear bronze colour, small off-white head. Aroma: caramel malts, toast, brown sugar, chocolate cake, pleasant esters. Medium to full body. Average carbonation. Taste: rich malts, esters, chocolate, vinous, some hop. Light plus bitterness. Warming alcohol. A nice doppelbock. Delicious.

500 ml bottle. Unclear brown, foamy head. Nuts, caramel, brown sugar, some citrus. Malty sweetness, some dry bitterness. Full bodied, oily texture, soft to lively carbonated, dry malty finish. Good and rich Doppelbock.

Great clean beer that tastes lighter than it is. Surprisingly low on flavour, but easy drinking. This bottle is a little oxidized though from being out all summer I think. Tried again oxidized again. Gaeffe hamburg. 3.5 nov 2019 Every time i try it it seems a little oxidized, nothing has changed

Tydlig kryddig beska. MYcket gott.

Tap at Raven Pub. Clear amber-red body with an off whtie head. An interesting, clean mix of caramelly maltiness and flowery noble hops, very much interesting, well made and drinkable for the ABV. My notes are vague - but this was definitely an enjoyable, classic doppelbock that stands above most of its peers.

Bottle picked up from Liebick Getränke which is on St.-Cäcilia-Straße in Germering, Bavaria, we're in our log cabin in Dachau, Bavaria, Germany. We're listening to the Beta Band, Tuesday 15th January 2018. Cooking Baked Aubergine with Tomato, Mozerella and Parmesan Cheese. Pours mid/dark brown with a slim off white head. A big hitting beer in terms of abv, warming and with a steady flow of molasses. Soft in the mouth, some toffee, chewy and a ton of malts. Great. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov15 3.7

50 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Trinkgut, Kleve. Clear light brown with an quickly disappearing off-white head. Spicy malty aroma with lots of caramel. Taste is sweet with that familiar smooth metallic finish most good bocks have. Some vinous notes in the finish as well. Good doppelbock.

Handpumped from a gepichtes Holzfass at Ettaler Holzfassfestival. Clear dark amber color with beige head. Aroma is supper nutty, wood, pitched wood, berries. Taste is wood, caramel, a touch raisins, wet wood, berries, all the Holzfass goodness. Super smooth mouthfeel with natural carbonation. Incredible!Bottle from early 2017, almost 2 years old, next to one that's 7 months younger. Oxidized, but tasty raisins, aged well. Still not on par with the fresh stuff. The younger bottle is fresher and hoppier.
