A blend of Rum barrel aged and Bourbon barrel aged ales.
The captain of the ship knew the moment he sailed into the Fog of Death what was next. Legend decreed that out of nowhere, the stench of the Reaper would arrive with his chess board in hand. And a Dead Man's Game would be waged for the souls on the ship.
If the captain availed himself and triumphed over death, the ship would sail on, reaping the rewards of gold and riches. Should death prevail, the ship and souls would vanish in the damp night air forevermore. Many played the Dead Man's Game, but no ship ever sailed out of the Fog of Death.. until this night.

A very dark brown, almost black beer. A head is quite small and light brown. Aroma has strong dried fruitness, raisin and prune, some sweetness of rum, also barrel, strong alc.% can be noticed. Taste has prunes, raisin, dates, drying barrel, hint of rum. No alcohol, but the strenght is there. Overally, the taste is lighter and more drinkable than aroma, but still there is the same strenght of aroma. Almost full bodied, basicly not stickyness. Greatly powerful, but still quite nice balance. This is great beer.

Bottle @ tasting shared by Caesar. Opaque black color, average sized beige head. Aroma is malts, dark malts, rum and bourbon, raisins. Nice! Taste malts, rum, raisins, bourbon, sweetish a bit. Damn this is good. Awesome beer. Would say this is an American Strong Ale rather than a Belgian Strong Ale. Great beer though.

Dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of bourbon with chocolate, figs and raisins. Sweet, complex and mild roasted flavour with lots of chocolate and cocoa and various dried fruit, along with a touch of (pleasant) booze.

Bottle - Big bourbon and rum barrel notes. All barrel. Deep brown with with a light beige head. Big bourbon notes but that overwhelms everything. Since I prefer a bit more balance, this is a bit extreme for me.

12.7oz bottle pours a murky, amber brown with some swirling tan head. Big nose, malty, grainy, candi too, caramel, brown sugar, booze, vanilla. Flavor follows, boozy, earthy, candi, cherries, prunes, toffee. Finsihes hot, sticky and boozy. Still dig it.
