Our Blonde Barleywine is made with a huge but simple malt bill that pairs with El Dorado, Sorachi Ace, and Lemon Drop hops resulting in flavors of apricots, peaches, and citrus.

500mL bottled 3/18/2019, #257/420, drunk 1/7/2024. Amber Barleywine, clear, small, beige head. Strong English yeast with tons of fruits. Overripe peach, moderate acidity, figs, golden raisins and rich malts with just a hint of vanilla oxidation that actually adds complexity. Gaining lots of breadiness with more peach and no booze. Good lord, this is JUST barely balanced by the refermentation of the malt and acidity from the yeast developed over 5 years. This must have been a glass of straight sugar when fresh. Why are their non-BA beers so God damned sweet???! That said, this is actually pleasant, albeit still very sweet. Tons of rich malt, vanilla, honey, bread, good acidity and ebullient fruits. I'll leave this score, obviously, but this has to be about a 2.0 when fresh.

500 ml bottle. 2020 vintage. Bottle # 90 / 540. Aroma shows soft honey, mild grain, soft apple nuance. Flavor is mostly honey like or honeycomb-like. Hints of apple or pear and a light alcohol warming finish. Alcohol is not noticed in flavor. Nicely made but doesn’t prove that blondes have more fun.

This has a tannish colour, hazy. Not much head. This has some stickiness up front, a touch of fruitiness. On the palate, it's huge stickiness, light fruity, and alcoholic. It's pretty simple, not much nuance.
