Der Knacker-Epos geht in die nächste Runde. Erneut haben wir unseren Barley Wine in Holzfässern veredelt. Zuvor reifte in den Fässern feiner Whisky aus der Destillerie Rogner aus Roiten/Waldviertel. Um dem Bier den maximalen Holzfasscharakter zu verleihen, haben wir uns mit Destillateur Hermann Rogner zeitlich abgestimmt. Zwischen der Entleerung des Whiskys und der Wiederbefüllung mit Nussknacker vergingen nur wenige Stunden.

0,33l from at bottle the Biergreissler. copper hazy color, small white head. smells wood, nutty, marzipan, light whisky, marzipan nutty. very nice smell. full body, light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of marizpan, nutty, some fruit notes, ripe fruits, peppery, wood. finishes lightly sweet with notes of marzipan, nuts and ripe fruits. very nice one 8, 4, 9, 4, 16

Bottle. Unclear amber color with white head. Aroma is caramel, toffee, raisins, vanilla. Taste is caramel, fudge, vanilla, full on bourbon. Oily mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Awesome!

Sampled from tap at CBF Vienna 2018. Clear, dark reddish amber with a thin, off-white layer. Sweetish-malty, slightly woody aroma of caramel, honey, vanilla, some oak and a touch of sultanas. Quite sweet, malty, a bit woody taste of caramel, honey, vanilla, whisky and some wood, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, slightly warming finish. Medium to full body, oily mouthfeel, almost flat. Really good barrel-aging, great balance, lovely beer!
