After aging for 2 years in bourbon barrels, we chose a few, exemplary barrels of mature Anabasis to finish in our favorite Willett Bourbon barrels and let age until we felt as though the blend was ready to share with you. We hope you enjoy this very limited expression of Double Barrel Anabasis 2020.

Draught at Brewery, 9/29/23. Somewhat muddy, maroon-tinted chocolate. No head. Spicy, kind of smells like lead/graphite/steel. I guess that's just this beers mo. Some dark fruit, toffee, more heavy lead. Such a strange but interesting beer. Strong, strong spice, booze, peppery heat, tons of lead and such. Super barrel forward. High attenuation. Like blend 6, it's confounding. Such a departure from their other stouts and barleywines. If you love lead and spice, you will like this more. But it's not sharp or overtly alcoholic.
0,75 litre Bottle, at a share. Dark brown with little head. Malts, Caramel, oak, bourbon, sweetness. Smooth.

Thnx to Tom VVH ! Pours nearly black, no head. Scent is lighter, more balanced than Anabasis B4 . heavy intense and sweet dried fruit. Barrels are mild, but provide balance.
Taste is full, heavy, oak, balanced BW base . Loads of dried fruits. Bit boozy. Long finish, very heavy (too heavy?) BW, with all the goodness you'd expect from it.

[ As Side Project Double Barrel Anabasis - 2020 (Gold - Bronze wax) ].
ABV: 14.0%. Clear dark brown colour with a small small, fully diminishing, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, dried fruit, wood, alcohol - bourbon. Flavor is heavy sweet with a long duration, bourbon, dried fruit, caramel, sweet malt, dark malt, balanced, complex. IMO: Wow .. that is my kind of sipper .. Great .. Body is medium to full, texture is creamy, carbonation is flat to soft, finish feel is warming and moderate alcoholic. [20210417]

Bottle. Pours a cloudy dark brown with small tan head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is strong bourbon, oak , fig, raisin, caramel. Slick body, bourbon, wood, vanilla, raisin, caramel, nice sweetness, amazing barrel character, enjoyed this.
