Bottle split at L6, 31/08/22, thanks to Kenwold. Lightly hazed golden amber with a modest off white covering. Nose is caramel, bitter fruit esters, herb, orange peel, light booze. Taste comprises fruit cake, spice, toffee, dark malts, booze. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced spike of alcohol. Not bad if a touch simplistic.

Bottle shared in London. Cheers to Kenny. Pours mostly clear gold with a small, creamy white head. Medium sweet flavour, dry pale malts, a little marmalade, slight booze, British yeast. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Dry finish, crackery pale malts, hay. So so.

Level 6 bottleshare. Thanks to me. Light haze on this deep gold beer, small cream colour head. Smooth palate, decent fine carbonation on the back end. Smooth malts, a nice creamy sweetness. Chinook adds a little crisp citrus peel. Smooth Moscatel barrel, mild sweet winey fruits. Light and semi dry spicy finish. A decent barleywine but never quite achieves the stratosphere.
