0,375l bottle at home. black color, small tan head. smells spices, earthy, honey, nutty, bit boozy. overall nice smell. full body, no carbonation. tastes earthy, vanilla, bourbon, boozy, nutty, some cocoa, peppery, light oxidation. finishes lightly boozy bitter with notes nutty, bourbon and vanilla notes. nice one, very bourbon forward, not very in your face though. on the boozy side though.

375ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Nov 21. Brought by me. Pours a very dark brown, good tan head. Aroma of layered dark malt, chocolate malt, bourbon. Taste is lovely and smooth with a nice full body. The whisky and rum influence really boosts an already excellent imperial stout, lots of sweet spirited layers revealing all kinds of enticing layered flavours. Probably the beer of the night for me. Excellent.

Fun Boy Five: 22nd November 2021, Beer Share in Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Five guys splitting beers. Cheers Mat for the 37.5cl bottle of this Coffee beer. Dark and murky pour, wispy beige head. Loads of flavours and aromas flying around, the spirit barrel aging doing their thing to compliment/complicate the original beers smell and taste. Interesting.

Black, bit of tan head. Good smell of coffee, roasty malts and a bit of rum. Smooth and very soft body, with a bit much carbonation. Taste is soft coffee, earthy, bittersweet. Rum comes through nicely, little bit of burning in the back.
Paired with a bit of the Phantom Spirits rum. That's quite sweet, caramelly, sharp alcohol, loads of golden raisins. Tasty stuff!

ABV: 10.3%. Clear dark black brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is light heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, coffee, vanilla, sweet alcohol - rum. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, roasted, chocolate, vanilla, malty, coffee, malt bitter, sweet alcohol - rum - barrel. Body is medium, texture is oily and sticky, carbonation is soft, finish feel is warming and light alcoholic. [20201105]
