  Stout Regular
Score
7.10
ABV: 5.9% IBU: - Ticks: 78
The ABV of this beer changed from 7.4% in late 2020, and it has since been introduced into the Vocation core range.

The recipe for Naughty & Nice remains exactly the same as always except that we have dialled back the ABV to 5.9% now that it’s going to be with us year-round. Reducing the ABV increases the drinkability – it’s still a hefty beer, but just that bit more quaffable.

Keg @ Vocation & Co, Hebden Bridge. Black with a mildly sticky texture. A winter warmer with smoother tasting roasted malts, which are milky and lingering and full tasting. Has plenty of aroma.

440ml can from the brewery. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a short-lived, frothy tan head. The aroma is chocolate and roasty malt. The flavour is moderate sweet, light liqourice bitter, with a smooth, roasty, earthy, light floral, liqourice bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Not as nice as I expected.

Can at home picked up from Vocation online. A dark brown coloured pour with a frothy dark tan head. Aroma is nice earthy chocolate malts, toasted cinnamon, dried apple, bark, maybe a little soapy. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, cocoa, drinking chocolate, fruit and nut, mellow spices, nutmeg / cinnmanon. Palate is semi sweet, little oily, nitro, moderate carbonation. Long lingering chocolate notes.

Cask at Crewe Dog, Crewe. Pours a very dark reddish brown with a small beige head. At first glance the aroma is vanilla and biscuits, but a second pass gives a strong chocolate sensation. Smooth and creamy in the mouth, but it does start to feel a bit watery after a while. Milk chocolate and vanilla flavours to the fore. Finish is chocolate as well. Quite nice, but a definitely preferred the strong version – this one is a bit bland.
