Velvet smooth roasty malts and some really nice sweet cocoa. Touches of coffee and sweet bready malts. Pretty nice stuff. Very easy drinking, a great session stout.

Keg @ KK's Steel Mill as 'KK's Dark Ale' while watching Moonspell before Paradise Lost. Also enjoyed by Nick Holmes onstage. Pitch black pour, creamy off-white collar. Smooth, almost silky palate. Had no idea what this was when I tried it, so expected something thin and cheap, but this has a surprising depth of flavour to it, nicely rich some chocolate and liqorice notes, mild soy, with an appealing sweetness, medium bodied. Ok.

0.5 l bottle from Vrutak, Zagreb. Black. Immediately fruity, red fruit, there is a metallic hint. Caramel more than roasty in aroma. Very fruity aroma later on. Flavour is toasty, caramel, roasty, cardboard and some metal. Thin, quite smooth, light finish. Soft carbonation. Very soft tartness.

Dark beige head, black body, stinks of fusel alcohol in mix with a bad espresso that your grandfather thought was really good in 1985. Before the communists fell apart, before people became feirce about that stuff. Fruity barley and soft grape syrup even, you know - the usual. The flavour is a light but very artificial dark brew and lots of sugar to boot, not cloying but definitely sugar laced to be sure. Just okay, adequate, but I wouldn't bet my left lipstick on it. Get something out of the train station vending machines instead.
