Ambar cobriza con espuma manchada de un dedo. Aroma floral y de malta tostada. Deliciosa base de malta, sobre el que destacan tonos lupulados, citricos, frutales (mandarina?). Final seco con postgusto de frutos secos. Notable.

500 ml bottle into pint glass. Gusher! Toffee aroma, cloudy bronze beer with minimal head. Rich spritzy mouthfeel. Spicy, creamy bitter with subdued hop finish. Well balanced and delicious.

Bottle from Tesco and drunk at home. Clear amber lasting beige head. Pasteurised toffee aroma. Some malt fruit. It’s a little better in the mouth. Some yeast, some malt flavours. I’ve always been a fan of Hooky and this is pretty decent. The pasteurisation isn’t too harsh. Some peppery English hop finish. Some sweetness. I want to give it a higher score, but just not sure it’s worth it. Bit of toast on the finish. I hate forced carbonation carbonic acid flavour.

On cask at the William Stead. Appearance - amber with a decent head. Nose - apples and dry biscuit. Taste - more of the same. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - solid bitter.

500ml bottle. Clear, amber golden colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Typical British hop aroma, notes of gooseberry and red berries. Taste is dry hoppy with identical fruit notes, subtle malt sweetness, some biscuit. Nothing special.

Classic English bitter from Oxford, with yellowish white head and warm amber colour. Malty aroma, English bitter hops; taste of dried fruits, citrus peel notes, caramelly malt base, a bit oaky, long hop bitterish finish. Delivers, though I suppose the cask-conditioned version should be better.
