For Vintage Ale 2018 we’ve stayed close to home; all of our ingredients have been sourced from the UK. Tropical, citrus and apricot flavours take centre stage, delivered by Ernest and Olicana hops. Pale ale malt from the finest Maris Otter barley combines with Crystal malt to give the beer a rich biscuit sweetness. As with every Vintage Ale, the flavours of this beer will develop for many years to come, like a fine wine or whisky

On cask at Beavertown Extravaganza 2018. Clear russet colour. Thin collar of bubbles. Peppery and hedgerow hop aroma. Sweetish in the mouth. Malty. This beer is always an event. I still like it. A good version this year. Good sweet malt followed by peppery hop finish. Classic.

Cask at GBBF 2018, Olympia, London. An amber/brown coloured pour with a small off white head on top. Malty, caramel, dark fruit aroma. Tastes similar, malty, caramel, dark fruit, slight bitterness. I'm sure this will be even better from the bottle with some years on it.

Cask stillage at LBA. It pours rich amber - amber with a small beige head. The aroma is rich, vinous, toffee, brown bread, oak, leather and spice. The taste is very dry, bitterness, chewy, tannin, wood, warming alcohol, spice and earth with a firmly drying finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Rich and chewy. Perhaps a bit drying, bit nice stuff anyhow.
