Magus, karamelline, linnaseline, nats hapukas, põlenud suhkrut, nats pärmine. Ok, teistsugune kui westmalle enda oma, aga miks mitte.

16/9/2022. Bottle shared by SHIG, cheers. Pours slightly hazy dark amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of dried fruits, malt, caramel, bread, golden syrup, touch of herb. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium body, oily, average carbonation. Nice warming finish. Good.

Panda at home, thanks to SHIG, 09/07/22. Dark mahogany brown with a light beige cap that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is earthy fruits, dark malts, spice, prunes, toffee, yeast esters. Taste comprises toffee, brown sugars, Belgian yeast esters, dried fruit rinds, brown sugar spattering, fruit cake mix. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with just a kiss of alcohol. Solid for the style.

Bottle from HolyArt. Limited Edition bottle. Piana spora, sniezno biala, barwa brazowa, z niewielkim refleksem czerwieni. Aromat czarnej porzeczki, jezyny, smak niezbyt duzo ciala, ale sie wyczuwa jezyne, figi i ciut lukrecji. Chmielnosc na srednim poziomie, ale jak na piwo trapistow dosc zauwazalne. Finisz niespecjalny, jakis taki gronowy.

T: full malty base, light dark bread, dark fruits, bit cocoa, banana, raisins, bit nutty, spicy, almost dry on the palate, medium carbonation, very nice for the style, fully enjoyed.

I'm honestly surprised how this isn't big hype beer. Sure, it's 'only' a dubbel, but c'mon. Westmalle (the kings of style) together with Rochefort ( one of the best breweries in the world) collabing ? This is insane. Even as a person who can say Dubbels are amongst my least favorite beerstyles, this find made me really happy !
Pours hazed , red-caramelbrown. Medium small, medium stable white head. Scent is expressive on the dark sugar, mild BE yeast aroma ( spicy phenols and banana esters) Tad dark bread-like malty base. dried fruit - a certain 'old' factor to it almost. Taste is fairly sweet, brown sugar very noticable. Caramel, dark bread, sugary finish. Surprisingly simple. Some banana (rises up towards the end) . phenols are much more silent than the scent. Fairly thin, fairly high carbonation. Not a huge fan, I expected far more complexity (guess thats why this isn't a big hype?) . As it warms up, the banana intensifies, and so does the sticky (sugary) finish.
