A highly flavoursome and aromatic modern session pale ale, Lucky Spence Pale has a lush, fruity hop character with an assertive bitterness. It’s refreshing on the finish and has honey and bready malt undertones.
Light in ABV but not in flavour, body or mouthfeel, it features three American hops – Chinook, Amarillo and Citra – and a UK hop, Olicana which combined, bring tropical, citrus and pine flavours and aromas.

After 50 plus venues over four days in Edinburgh the last drink I have is in the closest to what could be described as an 'Old Man' pub. The beer was decent but expectedly a bit weak tasting given the strength. Nevertheless a tropical fruitiness is just about evident.

Pigs Ear. Cask. Clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Light pale malts, sweet enough. Lovely hoppage, crystallised fruits, tangerine, mandarin, light bright pine, some orchard fruits. Light dry finish. A tad dry overall but a very nice flavour.

On cask at the Guildford Arms. Appearance - hazy golden amber with a nice creamy cask head. Nose - floral and citrus mainly with a bready backdrop. Taste - orange, apple and bready again. Palate - light bodied, creamy middle with balanced bitterness. Overall - went down very easily.
