Smooth, juicy and complex. The fresh lemon peel and Wai-iti hops from New Zealand give this beer a long lemon-flavoured finish.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; hazy golden yellow pour with big creamy off white head, grapefruit and spice aroma, taste is really zesty and spice with some crisp citrus and grapefruit some bready malts, I’m really impressed with the BBN saisons.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at the brewery. Pours mostly clear, bright gold with a thcik, frothy white head. Highly effervescent. Lovely aroma with lots of melon, grapefruit, lemon, plenty of lightly doughy pale malts. Light-medium sweet flavor with, tangerine meringue, yeasty bubblegum, papaya, mango, mild lemon and grapefruit. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation and massaging texture. Great balance on the finish with loads more juicy tropical fruits, slight rindy bitterness, underscoring pale bread sweetness, slight Belgian yeast tang, melon, grapefruit. Just super juicy and ultra drinkable.

Keg at BBNo. It pours hazy golden with a small white head. The nose is earthy, herbal, lemon peel, grapefruit and sherbet. The taste is fresh, lemony, lime, grapefruit, sherbet, dough, metallic twang, light tartness and sherbet with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Refreshing and very drinkable indeed.

Craft Clerkenwell. Keg. Hazy paleish gold beer, small white head. Palate is light and airy and semi dry. Fine minerally carbonation. Light dry floralness, whisper of spice. Light fresh but mellow lemon. Just a bare whisper of Wai-iti lime. Finishes light and semi dry. Nice beer, but I am not getting the ’best beer in 3 months’ that Melissa Cole tweeted about, but then that fine lady has a better palate than mine! This beer would go well with Thai food.

Bottle from the brewery and drunk at home. Pale gold cloudy lasting white head. Lemon aroma. Saison. Very similar to the other ones from this brewer. A bit sweeter maybe. Some lime on the finish, touch of pepper. Touch of soap. Fine, maybe a touch sweet. Some sauvignon flavour. Gooseberry.

Tap at Craft Clerko, 17/02/14. Hazed yellow come golden with a moderate off white covering that retains well. Nose is spice rack light, lemon curd, ginger, straw, earthy twang, orange peel. Taste comprises citric tinged straw, mandarin, light strains pineapple chunks that have sat in the opened tin in the fridge for a week, lemon rind, semi dank wood, spice, clove, light bread dough. Medium bodied, fine carbonation but a little thin and watery on the palate which drops this down a point or two for me, crisp refreshing closure. Good work but a little thin for me in the mouth.
