When we tasted the delicious strawberries from Domaine La Falize, it made us want to take up the complex challenge of brewing with this capricious little fruit.

Rouge Gorge is a Sour Ale aged in white wine barrels to which we have added magnificent Belgian & seasonal strawberries from Domaine La Falize. The result lives up to our expectations: complex, fresh, a pleasant strawberry nose balanced by a beautiful acidity.

Sampled @ Billie's Craft Beer Fest 2021. A clear deep golden beer with a white head. Aroma of tart white grapes and brett. Taste of tart grapes, apples, yeast. Nice.

Pours clear, peachy (slightly reddish) , blonde. Small ring of miniature foam. Scent is fairly intense , strawberry, bit spicy as well. Taste is full, bright, strawberry stronger phenolic side - that works very well. Drying, mild acidity - intensified by the fruits. Very well made, very enjoyable.

37.5cl bottle @ La Source shared with Tim, Erwin and Ama. Via early bird La Source crowdfunder. Lot P278-279, BB 30/06/2022.

14/VIII/21 - 37.5cl bottle @ La Source brewery (Brussels), BB: 30/VI/22 (2021-805) Thanks to all for sharing today’s beers!

Cloudy deep orange to pink beer, small creamy white head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very dirty, don’t like it at all, some fruity notes, but basically mainly rotting stuff. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: little sourish, sweet touch, funky, acidic, weird, not as bad as it smells luckily, some bubble gum. Aftertaste: dry, bitter, funky, weird, little dirty, yeasty, meh.
