330ml bottle. I'm going to rate this from from previous samplings circa 2014 / 2015 when it tasted devine (it's dropped off massively now). Pours opaque amber brown with a tan head. Aroma: barleywine-ish, caramel, candy sugar, star anise. Taste: moderate to heavy sweet, dark fruits, raisins, dates, brown sugar, liquorice. Medium body, fine carb with a sweet boozy finish. In it's heyday this was great.

Bottle, many thanks chriso! Unclear amber color with soapy-ish beige head. Aroma is sticky syrupy raisins, Belgian candy yeasts. Taste is sticky Belgian candy, toffee, raisins, quite sweet. Oily mouthfeel with low carbonation. Good!

330ml bottle. Hazy, dark ruby red brown-ish colour with small to average, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Sweet-ish malty aroma, notes of raisin, fig, dried fruit, cautious hints of oxidation, therefore malty hints of almond and cardboard, an interwoven touch of aniseed - malty Barley Wine-like flavours overall. Taste is sweet malty, toffee notes with caramel, chocolate and coffee touch, molasses, some dried fruit, raisin, red berries; cautious, interwoven hints of aniseed throughout, some warming alcohol in the finish. Full body, oily texture, slightly sticky palate. Not tangent to anything typically Belgian, though..

Bottle. Bier Huis, Ossett. Hazy, reddy amber. Film, and a few bubbles of pale tan head. Sweet, All Bran like malts. Dried fruits. The Missus picked up anise straight away. I didnt. I did get vanilla. Toasted tea cake. Very fruity, boozy, and heady. Taste is boozy sweet. Fruity dry. Palate is smooth, rich, oily, and a little chewy. Finishes long, chewy sweet, and light bitter. Really good, big, tasty beer.

Bottle, edition 1. Nose is overpoweringly sweet, pronounced star anise, slight cloves some spice, simple. Taste is cloyingly sweet, alcohol, some dark fruits, stewed apple, the aniseed takes a lot of swilling in the mouth to detect, and is marginal to the point of irrelevance., mouthfeel is too thin. Underwhelming but drinkable.
