Displaying its pitch-black viscosity as soon as it's pouring into the glass, Permutation 7.09 opens up with aromas of creamy chocolate milk, toasted hazelnut, and subtle fresh-ground coffee beans. Over time, the beer begins to show secondary notes of vanilla almond milk and gentle coconut. A medium body, well-integrated adjunct profile, and slight warming character all come together in a harmonious slow-sipping drinking experience.

Bottle split at L6 Tasting, thanks to Dave, 02/03/23. Black topped with a khaki head that thins to a swirl. Nose is chocolate melt, toffee, dried fruits, spice, dark malts, coffee bean. Taste comprises roasted bite, chocolate, spice, toffee fudge, caramel, coffee bean, molasses. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Tidy.

Craft Beer Junction. Xmas bottleshare. Opaque dark brown beer, small bubbly tan head. Airy palate, semi dry finish, modest fine carbonation. Smooth dark chocolate malts, good dark chocolate Malteasers. Tidy bourbon barrel fruits. Smooth finish. Tasty if a little flaccid.

20/6/2023. Bottle shared by Colin, cheers. Pours black with a small frothy tan coloured head. Aroma of coffee, ash, roasted malt, chocolate raisins, coconut, toffee. Medium sweetness, moderate roasted bitterness. Full bodied, creamy and smooth, very soft carbonation. Very nice.

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Dave. Pours clear black-brown with a modest, foamy tan cap. Medium to big sweet flavour, ample cocoa powder, decent roast, subtle oxidation, raisins. Full bodied, oily and lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, some boozy warmth, creamy vanilla. Not bad.

Bottle shared at the Columbus tasting. 2023-03-02. Many thanks to Wingman. A A dark brown black coloured pour with a halo of light tan head. Aroma is semi sweet, cinnamon, oily, brown sugars. rasin. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, peanut butter, brown sugars, cinnamon, sweet and sticky. Palate is semi sweet, oily, moderate carbonation.

750ml bottle. Jet black colour with small, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, sulphureous-beige head. Coffee dominated, dark malty aroma, notes of espresso, coffee, hints of maple syrup, cocoa, vanilla, peanut butter, whiffs of toasted coconut and cinnamon. Taste is as well dominated by coffee flavours, roasty and chocolately, dark malty, notes of espresso, coffee, hints of maple syrup, cocoa, toasted coconut, a touch of peanut butter, vanilla, cinnamon, some dried fruit. Creamy texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, fine and soft carbonation. Well balanced, harmonious, homogeneous - outstanding!

750 ml bottle. Black body, with a small tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, coconut, vanilla, some chili impression. Tastes similar, with some booze. Full, oily mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation. Finishes roasty, medium sweet, a bit boozy, with chocolate, coffee, soy sauce, some coconut. Tasty. Quite typical style example, while very well balanced and smooth to drink. Well integrated adjuncts, leaving room for the roasty malt notes. Great sipper. Score: 8 / 4 / 8 / 4 / 15

BB . black color, small coffee colored head. smells spices, nutty, earthy, vanilla, peppery, bitter cocolate, coconut, cocoa nibs, very nice smell. full body, light carbonation. tastes of spices, peppery, vanilla, marzipan, nutty, coconut, cocoa nibs, bitter chocolate. finishes lightly roasty bitter with notes of spices, peppery and some vanilla notes. good stuff, flavours are a bit all over the place, pretty good one, but does not beat any kind of barrel aged stout. 8, 4, 7,3, 16
