At a tasting, many thanks, small stable bubbly frothy head, clear cola brown color, aroma of wood and caramel with coconut and vanila coming through, flavor of chocolate, coconut cookies and vanila, mellow sweetness, flavor is much better then the aroma which is one dimensional. Nice and enjoyable.

Bottle from Bruisin' Ales. Pours clear, very dark and ruddy. Foamy/frothy beige head. Aroma of rum and fruit. Not dark fruit - rather medium dark. Refreshing aroma. Med body. Flavor is moderately dark fruit, musty wood, rum spice and malt belonging to a Scotch ale. It's not at all heavy, and it is surprisingly refreshing. There's a mild burn - might be rum spice; not likely to be heat; or hop. Not dry; moderately spicy/bitter. I like it - I seem to always like the nuances in I&G ales.

I like red beer. Rum barrel too? Even better. I got this this 11.2 oz brown bottle from a craft store not far away. No experience with Innis & Gunn, let us have a try. Into a tall tumbler goes half the bottle. If nothing else it is a pretty pour. I find a dark amber body topped with a skim of light brown foam. The nose delivers sorghum, hay, maybe some dark fruit. But it is all talk until you drink. Not at all bad. Heavy on the field taste, biscuit, plum, a little herbal. I would drink again, gladly.

Bottle from Aldi, Inverurie. It pours clear dark ruby - brown with a medium foamy white head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, oily, treacle, rum baba, molasses, umami, vanilla essence and liquorice. The taste is dry, slick, oily, chewy, toothy, rum & cola, brown bread, treacle, wood, booze, liquorice, tannin and cola with a slick, sweetish finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Comes across a bit artificial perhaps, but it's OK.

25th March 2018, 330ml bottle (BBE Jan 2019) into a Good People of Birmingham, Alabama badged sleeve after an hours walk with the dog and wife. Drank while sat in the fading sun on my patio with the 'Chiminea' failing to keep me warm. I enjoyed this beer. My sweet tooth liking it's basic malty base and the mini Rum undertones. Brown/bronze body, off-white topping. Mild dark Rum aroma with the malts, taste similar with a semi-sweet molasses feel throughout.
