330ml bottle. Clear, dark brow with a thin off white head. Not much aroma, maybe a little toffee sweetness? Getting plenty rum in the flavour, but not a lot else. OK, but that's about it

330ml bottle from Innis & Gunn online. Chestnut brown colour with a reddish tinge, tan foam head leaving lacing and aroma of rum, chocolate, woody. Taste is creamy, malt, fruity, some rum, hint of chocolate, woody oak, vanilla. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi-dry nutty bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

It's a rum barrel red beer as described quite clearly on the label. Would it have been so hard to add these words to the description of the beer when adding? Clear reddish amber beer, good fluffy pale tan head. Palate is smooth and light, semi dry and has decent fine carbonation. Light malts, a little malt cream and a touch of bitterish toffee. Smooth light vanilla. Mellow dark fruits blend well with a touch of rum. Finishes light and leaves a mild bitter linger. Nice. Well integrated and smooth and very drinkable. It will of course be fashionable to give this beer a good kicking, but a good beer is a good beer for me. Or I am just I&G's bitch!

33cl bottle from Waitrose, Wokingham. A dark reddish chestnut colour with a tight cream coloured head; aroma of woody vanilla and red fruit; thin in the mouth with a predominantly woody taste and some red currant; then a thin watery finish with the slightest warmth that might be attributable to the rum. Disapoointing.

Aroma of dry malty fruit, clear res beer. Taste is rich, malty fruit. You get the strength of the rum and the effect of the barrel aging.
