Bottle. Dram Shop, Sheffield. Clear, dark ruby red. Greyish beige, bubbly, frothy head. Nose has some treacly, roast malt. Some date like stone fruit. Bit of nutty chocolate. Taste is nutty and sweet, with some vinous, dry bitterness. Light to medium body. Pretty smooth. Some slightly smoky, fruity bitterness on the finish.

Poured a dark brown (almost black) color with a samller sized off white head. Aromas of roast, caramel, and chocolate.

(swing top bottle) Clear, ruby brown colour with a beige and firm mid-sized foamy head. Dark and mildly roasted malty aroma, slightly ashy with notes of dark chocolate and a whiff of herbal hoppy spice. Mildly bitter and slightly sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Dark malt character with cautious roasty notes, hints of chocolate, liquorice, shades of molasses and herbal spicy notes, which are getting slightly stronger towards the bitter and slightly sweet finish with notes of chocolate in the aftertaste. Tastes like a Dunkel/Stout hybrid, not bad. 03.VIII.16

17-03-16 // 500ml bottle from the brewery. Pours a dark brown to black colour, almost clear. Nice white head. In the nose roasty malts. In the mouth a bit caramel with roasty malt, some coffee. Slightly bitter. A bit to watery I think, could use a stronger smoother body.
