Mayday – ein malzaromatisches Weißbier: Am 1. Mai wird das Mayday angestochen, ein dunkles Weißbier. Durch den Einsatz von dunklem Gerstenmalz im Brauprozess entwickelt sich ein typischer intensiver Geschmack. Das Weißbier hat in Bayern eine lange Tradition, aus welcher heraus auch die dunkle Version entstanden ist. Genießen Sie im Frühsommer diesen erfrischenden Genuss.

Teku at the airport... yes you read that right. Murky brown with a decent cap of white head. Nose has some caramel and plenty of yeast, a little oxidized (I am drinking this a few months late), potpourri. Flavor is chewy malts and clove and some Charleston Chew, orange rind. Finishes a touch flabby and stale.

Tap. Hazy orange-amber color with surprisingly small creamy eggshell head. Aroma is grainy, earthy, spicy yeasts, no bananas really. Taste is milky, straw, bananas, cream, mineralic. Mineralic mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Not great.

On tap. Pours a light cloudy brown color. Wheaty start with a yeasty fruity touch and hints of caramel.

On tap at the brewpub. Trübes dunkel orange goldenes Bier mit einer ordentlichen leicht beigen Schaumkrone. Geruch hefig, leicht röstmalzig, Karamell, reifes Obst. Geschmack süß malzig, Karamell, toffee, wenig reifes Obst, brauner Zucker.

On tap at the brewery tap, 5/5/2014. Hazy copper in colour with a big, off-white head. Caramel, cloves and a touch of banana with slightly earthy malts and a gentle finish. Good.

On tap at Airbrau Munich Airport. Dark brown cloudy, thick head. Now that has some choc and is quite tasty. First ever choc weisse beer, not too estery. Helles is the best here which was good. This is fine, tasty and I could drink lots of it Bit one trick moderate fullness.

Draft in the biergarten. Looks, smells and tastes like every other dunkelweizen on the planet. Medium body. Boring.
